In addition to the great wealth of fauna and flora, the entire region is suitable for the practice of extreme sports, such as surfing, diving, sailing, fishing, trekking, ecotourism and activities related to free flight.

Ubatuba is the “Capital of Surfing” and if you want to practice the sport, this is the ideal place. The best beaches for practicing the sport are Vermelha do Norte, Vermelha do Centro, Itamambuca, left corner of Félix and Praia Grande. As for skimboarding, Sununga beach is the most suitable.

Stand up Paddle

Several beaches with calm waters are perfect for the practice of sport, such as the dry bar and even Cruzeiro beach. In the northern region, one of the best known routes is the crossing from Prumirim beach to Prumirim Island. It is even possible to rent the equipment.

Canoeing

In addition to the practice of Hawaiian Canoe (Va'a) as a sport, the city has suitable places for canoeing. In addition to the Fazenda River, the beach do  Puruba is one of the most sought after for the practice, due to the calm waters. In Ubatuba, some places to practice are the Gruta do Pirata, the Gruta que Chora and the Pedra Grande (inside the inn of the waterfalls).

In Ubatuba, canyoneering can be practiced at the Água Branca Waterfall, where the Água Branca river is crossed in three vertical descents, and you can bathe in the waterfall of more than 150m.

Diving

With all this number of beaches and length of coastline, diving in Ubatuba is a guarantee of satisfaction. It is possible to practice free, autonomous and professional diving. The city is home to some of the best diving spots in the country, such as Ilha Anchieta, as well as other places such as Ilha das Couves – which yield beautiful records, especially with the diversity of marine fauna and flora.

Fluctuation
